“The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before.”
- Neil Gaiman
My journey started in a sleepy Midwestern town in the summer of 1971, pretty much at the dawn of all that was to be awesome in the world. I still remember watching Star Wars erupt on the world and the late nights playing D&D. Like a gaggle of other kids, that’s where my love for fantasy stories took root. I grew up on Tolkien and Donaldson and Moorcock and Herbert and Marvel comics and more. Sure, I played soccer and hung out with friends, but I was always looking for fantasy and sci-fi stories to devour. It didn’t matter if it was a book, comic, movie, magazine or video game (even Zork!). The endless worlds and stories the human mind can imagine remain irresistible. There is nothing quite like strolling through a freshly created world - simply magical.
Before landing in California, I bounced around from coast to coast for school and work. Along the way, my love for fantasy and sci-fi never left me. I’ve always kept journals and notes of ideas. Over the past few years, I’ve been weaving stories using those ideas to create worlds and the people living in them. I want to introduce you to people and worlds that inspire you, perhaps even surprise you. Hopefully, after meeting them and living in their worlds, you’ll long for more, always wondering what happens next. Maybe their stories will even change you along the way. Oh, and of course, a little magic in a story is always a good thing.
